Uh-Oh - Megan is Naughty

Dec 18, 2008 09:46

Okay, so instead of going with my friends to their five hour karaoke party last night, I went home - but first I went to Kiddy Land and Seria to shop. Kiddy Land is a store with a bunch of stationary and some clothes and all-around cute stuff, and they also have toy vending machines. I bought a bunch of stickers and some Pretty Cure envelopes and a Christmas present for my brother he'll throw away and then some cell-phone charms for myself. I wanted this awesome...I can't remember what show it was from, but it was an anime where the charries were dressed up like maids, cell phone charm, but the stupid thing took my 200 yen and didn't give me my toy! Bastards. I bought Pretty Cure stickers and some awesome Kansai dialect ones. They're so cute. I love Kiddy Land and I'll miss it when I go back to the US.

Anyway, after that I went to Seria, which is a 100 yen shop. Guess what people? I'm naughty! I bought...seven more stationary sets? They had put out new stock since last week! I've already packed them away but let me assure you, they're funny. There is 'Happiness Sweets', 'Colored Squares', 'Joyful Lion', 'Goodnight Bear Cub', etc. And I bought more New Years Seals and some cartoon seals. Then I went home, but my host mother wasn't here so when she got home at 9 pm she said she'd take me to get dinner until she realized OMG! THE GUPPY GAVE BIRTH! If you recall, all 20 guppy babies died this past weekend, but hey, there are 20 new guppies from one shot! And she was still giving birth when I went to bed. I haven't gone down this morning (I will shortly since at least one of my friends is coming over for lunch) so there might be 50 more by now.

*pauses to cough up a lung* Not feeling too well obviously - I just hope it gets better by Monday. My plane leaves bright at early at 1:30 pm. Hey, that's early for me! I'm thinking about getting another penpal, too... I have four, but hey, the more the merrier until I get to finals next semester and start freaking out! That and my graduate school application period. Well, I am still debating retaking the GRE with my 980 out of 1600 and a 4.0 on the writing section (bastards!). The GRE doesn't matter as much as it once did and I have a 3.75 GPA to balance that out, Secretary of the Model UN, Study Abroad, volunteer work, one year of collegiate-level golf... That is all good stuff to get into an Asian Studies and International Relations program, right? I might include a writing sample just to try to sway them over. Seton Hall is my top choice and NC State is my safety since it is just international studies instead of a dual masters and it is 30 minutes from my house, although if I got a GA position there I could spend my stipend buying Hurricanes season tickets. That is tempting...

Okay, back to the subject of Japan! Tomorrow I don't know what I am doing besides mailing my phone back to the phone company and clearing out my bank account, and Saturday I don't know what I am doing since Meghan and Nicole are both leaving. Maybe I will drag Jacy somewhere with me, like purikura or bowling or something. And on Sunday Rivka and I are going in the morning to the flea market in Kyoto at Toji Temple because I want to buy a kimono, and then I am spending the rest of the day with my host family. Damn it, I need to buy my host family a going away gift this weekend... I am going to see if I can buy them a light for their fish tank or a book on guppy care. Something fishy. I thought about buying a nice fish and naming it Megan but they'd probably kill it. There is a pet store within biking distance of here so I will go there.

That's it! No clip of the day today (so far) since it is only 10:15 in the morning!

fish, stationary, karaoke, shopping, sick
