A Big F*** You to Peer Review

Okay, so we did our presentations in one of my classes today - well, I did mine.  Fifteen minutes on a current issue in Japan and since I didn't want to do anime or fashion (yeah, people chose that as being relevant) I did Foreigners and Crime in Japan.  Okay, no biggie, I got up there and talked, noticed NOBODY was paying attention except when I put funny pictures up there with the express intent to get someone to look, the teacher participated more in my discussions than anyone else in the class, I finish my powerpoint after someone rambles on for ten minutes about something that had nothing to do with my presentation in the discussion time, and I sit down.

Later, when I go to turn in my peer review for someone else (I take those things seriously - most people don't even give comments), I see someone putting there review down for mine.  I was like, ooh, okay, how did they think I did?

The Japanese student gave me all greats!  (But then again, the Japanese students seem to give everyone greats on everything).  The foreign student, though, the one I saw at least, put down my presentation as being Out of Date, Uninteresting, So-So Presentation Skills, So-So Audio Visuals, and So-So Expertise.  Oh, and no interest on the topic, yeah...

What the fuck people?  Seriously.  I have never trusted what my peers think about those things because I know the vast majority of people are dumb sheep, but come on...  At least pay attention.  I thought about including some videos but didn't have enough time, and that would have only been as a last resort time filler.  My friend told me she thinks it is just a popularity contest because I showed her my presentation and she said it was great, and maybe it is, but really people, if you are not going to even pay attention please just don't fill out the fucking form.

Oh, and the guy who did Style in Japan and made it seem like a Style Channel fashion forecast, he got Greats.  Yeah.

Thanks a lot people!  You truly blow my mind.
