(no subject)
Well, I've been told I should post on this thing, since much has happened since last time I gave a general update...
So, we've moved. On the whole, I like Hornsby. Pleasant, if small, house, nice block with much tree-ey shadedness, wildlife, decent proximity to ubershops (hornsby Westfield is HUGE), ok public transport, quiet street, good people inhabiting said house, etc. House feels much more like a home with 4 in it, as has been the case for the last week. Says a lot about the people that such a small house feels cosy rather than choking with 4 people in it (or more or less in it - while Lyndsay is "living" in the shed, this essentially amounts to using it as a sleeping-den at this stage). Though it's also nice on occasion when it's only L and myself, in a "place of our own" kinda way, I've really enjoyed the extra company and socialness.
Anyway... Otherwise, things are not too shabby. I'm more or less recovered from the moving-flu, as is L. We're doing much wedding prep this week. Also, I'm poor. Gah. However I am surrounded by awesome people who make me feel far less poor/stressed than I would otherwise, so it could be a lot worse, I guess...
12th Night was fun - I fought (and thus qualified for the Gold Tourney final through participating in all three qualifiers - mmm, an ounce of gold...), was owned by most of the fighters I picked out in the melees, but didn't feel too bad. Fought Blaeney twice and did OK, legged him both times but wasn't fit enough to push through his defences while he was on his knees. Need more core body strength - more fighting for me... Company was good, and I found out that by default I am royal household because I am the king's squire... If someone had TOLD me this beforehand it would have helped.
Tomorrow I go in search of new, black walking boots and a dark green buisness-type shirt. If the latter is impossible to find, I'll need to have one made. If the former is impossible to find, I'll probably settle for grey or dark brown, but black would be better.
