"its way too late, to be this locked inside ourselves. the trouble
is...that you're in love with someone else. it should be me...oh it
should be me." interpol.
happy halloween everyone. hope everyone had a
good time, ate a lot of candy and stayed out of trouble. while everyone
was out trick or treating, i was driving back from tempe, arizona,
after seeing quite possibly the greatest concert i have ever seen in my
short, 20 year life. i got the great privlege of seeing interpol and
they put on the coolest show ever. wow, i was actually at a loss for
words after the show. as hard as it is to say, i think this concert was
better than the 3 strokes concerts ive been to. dang it was really
cool. but at first, the day started out kind of bad. we had fallen
asleep at 3 30 the nite before and woke up at 7 30 the morning after
and we really have no idea why. i guess we were all kind of excited for
the show later that nite. so then we got ready and ate and went to the
venue at around 2 00 o'clock in hopes of meeting the band and we were
rudely dismissed by security so that got us in a bit of a bad mood
already. so now that we were all in a bad mood and sleepy we went back
to our hotel to relax for a while, which was a great idea, cause after
that we were all energized to see the show again. so we decided to get
a coffee before we head back to the venue and as we walked to
starbuck's, andrew looks into cold stone creamery and sees the guys
from the secret machines (the opening act) getting an ice cream. so we
went in there and chatted with them for a while and they are nice guys
and we wish them nothing but the best!
so that already put us in a better mood and got us psyched about interpol.
well then we went to the
venue and waited in line for a while and when we finally got in we got
some sweet spots from on the floor no more than 3 ft. from the stage.
the opening acts were actually really good. they were on! air! library!
and the secret machines. and they put on really good shows, especially
the secret machines, they really impressed us. well once they got done,
we were all anxiously awaiting interpol and when they came they put on
the greatest show ive seen! they started off with "next exit" and it
sounded so awesome. and the other hilites of the show were "obstacle
1", "say hello to the angels", "roland", "narc", "c'mere" and "evil".
but in reality, the entire show was so unreal. the music and vocals
sounded great and after the show we decided to stick around and try to
meet the band. for a while there it seemed like a lost cause until sam
(drummer) came out and started taking pics and signing autographs and
that was so flippin' cool. he's a real down to earth guy, but lol, he
was straight smoking a joint as he was takin' pics and signing
autographs, i was tripped out by that. lol but nonetheless he was cool.
then we continued waiting when security came and told us we had to
leave and we started walking away, sad. but we walked slow enough to
notice people running back to the buses so we started running back to
them too. and it turned out being carlos d. (bass) and we got to take
pics with him and get his autograph too and he was really cool too. he
was the most talkative of the bunch and was awesome. but the one i
really wanted to meet was daniel kessler (guitar) who is my new musical
idol. he is the coolest guitarist, (sorry albet and nick). and he ended
up coming out later too! i was completely star struck that i didnt know
what to say,i just shook his hand and thanked him for the best show i
had seen, and he just smiled. lol, i think he was high too. dang, but
that really capped off the nite. one of the coolest nites ever. thank
you interpol! lol, alrite well im flippin tired so this journal is now
officially over. question to my many, many readers. what is the
greatest feeling you've ever expercienced? go crazy
