I have a real car now! It doesn't have to sit in the garage all sad anymore! I fixed it myself with the help of a family friend Derek. He's a master mechanic who used to work with my dad at Ford. With his guidance, I:
~changed the spark plugs
~changed the fuel filter (it was clogged!)
~cleaned out the almost new air filter
~checked all fluids (good oil, no oil change necessary)
~tested and replaced the battery (sat too long)
~tested the alternator (with great results!)
Now there's no more check engine light! I got it I/Med and registered today. As always I managed to be in and out of the DMV in 30 minutes. It's always magical, works every time! Now we have a safe, reliable car to drive to the Talkeetna Music Festival! Of course after that we're going to Wasilla to stay with Matt's cousins for a few nights. We're going to the Alaska Bush Company on Monday. Skydiving should be on Tuesday at 5pm. We'll head back on Wednesday. Should be a good trip. Hopefully not too expensive on the gas and food.
In other news, we soon hope to have a computer assisted router courtesy of loadobject. I'll have to get with Jess to set it up. It will be so nice to have proper working internet again. Also, the U.S.S Star Gazer is going through a crew shift at the moment. Almost entire house to be related to me. Details to be announced after switch complete.
Oh, and if you haven't heard: we finally found a way to send Graham to daycare where he gets paid. It's a good system.
