So here I am, sitting in a dorm room at wesleyan, while my host is at queer prom. I spent the evening going to a student-produced production of A Midsummer Night's Dream that was all based on bondage stuff, and was amazing, then wandering around campus with a couple of theatre people, accidentially setting off a security alarm while exploring the tunnels below the theater, and then riding up and down in the elevators in the science building.
How cool is that?
So after looking at brown and wesleyan, I really like wesleyan. However, it's dificult to articulate why, because on paper, brown looks much better. In fact, I can find no specific thing that is wrong with it, but I just don't feel right there. I don't know what it is. Wesleyan, however, has left me with a fabulous feeling on both of my visits. They have a great math and science program, and a fabulous theatre program, which is actually more extensive than I previously thought.
So yeah, that's where I am right now. I'm coming home on sunday.
And all you anything goes folk, I'm really amused that I'm so involved in our theatre program that I can't ever escape being on call. Don't take this wrong, I choose to tell you guys that you were free to call me, and I didn't mind talking to Lauren/Adam on thursday night about various...problems (parenthetical aside here, during my conversation with Adam, he complained about how loud the orchestra was, and I said something along the lines of "yeah, they must be pretty damn loud, because I can hear them all the way in Rhode Island. hahahaha). This is purely an expression of amusement, not of complaint of a wish that things were otherwise.
Anybody want to take bets on whether I get at least one "Matt, Help!" phone call from South theatre people next year?
