brain

If I blow my brains out

let my skull fall in baby’s breath

let my spine rest on hot grass

let my eyes gaze at Waterhouse

let my mind maze Watts

the splatter will shatter

a purple hue

radiant it will glitter

against the stroke of dusk

let me feel the air

taste it for once

an inhale be lingering

an exhale for all exhales

charging forth

let the birds serenade me

then pick at my pieces

take me anew

to the high places

i’ve never been

let my fingers reach up

toward my home

among stars and streaks

up and up I go

let my mouth hang wide open

toothy they’ll find me

in awe of this

all of this

they will join me too

wide open mouths

they will come too
maybe later
