Favorites
So I think it's pretty amusing that I secretly had a favorite basketball player (past tense because I guess it's not so much of a secret now). Most of the time I don't even bother to remember player's names, numbers, or what they did. Not even in football. Okay, it was hard for even me to miss that Alexis Serna was our kicker at the football games. But Serna, we liked Serna.
Oh right, my favorite basketball player. Roeland Schaftenaar, #10! I dunno, he stood out to me last season for some reason...not because I thought he was particularly good or anything. Actually, it might have been because he seemed awkward to me. Then again, it's not our team that year was any good anyway. Of course, I recently found that he's from the Netherlands, which is a plus ;)
Anyway, in the game against USC on Sunday, he made the 3-pointer that tied us and sent us into overtime so we could win. The crowd was incredibly excited. I'm sure that was a good moment for him. I was glad to see that.
