I'm so Getting Old.........*sigh*
Would you believe it.....I took my youngest and my nephew to see Meet the Robinsons last week. A great kids animated flick with a very loud soundtrack and lots of terrific whizzbang spfx and marvelous computer animation. Engaging characters and a funny baddy. Anyway the point of all this is.....I fell asleep, half way through!! OMG I couldn't believe it....I fell asleep, and woke up five minutes before the end. Now, I'm not kidding, this is a really noisy movie, and very bright and action packed....and I missed a good third!!
What a joke! Shame too, because usually I adore kids movie..only a few clunkers in recent years (Thomas the Tank Engine Movie - completely bastardised by the American film industries, give me Ringo anyday! And Chicken Little...that was one BAD movie....dreadful cliche characterisations, but I've already ranted about this one before...oh and one I almost forgot.....Cars....ugh!)....on the whole, I love kids movies because they have some of the most eye-popping animation, and usually the most cutting edge as well.
Maybe I should stick to grown up films......but wait a minute, I took my girls to see Miss Potter and didn't fall asleep!! In fact I was riveted from the opening scene and even cried!!.....maybe I just need to get to bed earlier....zzzzzzzzzzzz
