Long Overdue Update (Part N in a Series)

Oct 12, 2005 23:30

Ah, yes, so it would seem that college life is trying to bury me alive, but I seem to have the right shovel at all times. I've been making my comeback (from Southeast Left Nowhere ^.^') in the Saturday morning league, and started off well Sunday mornings (229 average is not what I'd call well, but you know how I like to downplay most everything). Even the Biochemistry exam was a surprise...

...in more ways than I would have liked. Professor Shekhtman told us what we should know (basically amino acids and functional pKa values, as well as a couple of equations), and then decided to test us on something completely different. Ten short answers and multiple choice later, I B.S.'d my way through it, and that was that. Who ever would have thought that I would have received an 80 (third highest in the class, I think)? Oh Purgatory, I thought a 40 was inevitable, but alas, I won.

Now, I wait for my late night meal (courtesy of Doov) because there was ordering of the drunk food. No, I did not tipple, and I am not drunk, dammit! But a chicken calzone and garlic knots were calling out to me. Ah, garlic...

Anyway, celebration is in order tonight, because we have tomorrow off. I love college when it's like that. Then two easy classes Friday, and hello weekend. I really love the weekends, that I do. League = much fun, even when my numbers are rather subpar. Speaking of which, I should probably buy those plastic sheet jackets for the traveling league binder. I basically get to manage the team, so long as an adult is there (this week, looks like it's mom's turn). Yes, everything from making sure they know where they are next week, to balancing the envelopes, to taking the sheets and running statistics, I get to have all that fun. Plus, if Pete is not coming on a regular basis, I even get to be the designated team coach. Don't I have all the luck. I can really only explain things from the eyes of physics. Oh well, it looks like I have students under my wing, I suppose. I can teach, I know that.

Wow, that was a fun rambling. Is there anything else? Well, Petty Farceny is almost ready for programming, except I have to make a few more maps first. Once that's ready, look out, you'll hate me for working on it.

I keep trying to open a Splatterball Plus account, but apparently Mythic's billing department can never verify certain bits of information. Damn them.

Eventually, I should buy a microphone for my computer so I can record my faux-stand-up routines and make a CD of them for various people (let's face it, few would want them). I'm sure that'd be fun to do.

Oh, here's a good one. Apparently Dave is concept designing his own college (with help from Ed, of course), and there's two courses so far:

ALK 369: Rum Jug Theory with Professor Roache
ALK 101: Don't Fuck the Fatty with Professor Savoie

*Laughs* I never have, but I guess they feel I'm most qualified to teach that because, well, I'M SOBER. But hey, look at that, I get to teach. ^.^'

Ok, let's call it a night. Say good night, Gracie. *Backhand*

Yes, I know that was bad.
