Super Saturday Fun Time Adventure, Part 2

And now, Part 2!

As I mentioned in Part 1, once we got back from the Getty Villa, I discovered that my mom hadn't ordered my tres leches birthday cake to be decorated with pink and purple flowers, like I'd requested. Instead, she took the initiative to get something far more radical. But it wasn't quite time for cake yet, we had to eat dinner first.

We already had a pack of cheddarwurst, so we hit the grocery store for some other essentials, like buns, beer, and pasta and potato salad. Put it together with the stuff left over from the night before we were well stocked for a night of fun.

Finally it was time to hit up the cake. When I first peeked at it in the fridge and saw a giant lump of brown, I was confused, but then everything clicked when I saw the wheel.

PIRATE CAKE FTW!!!

As soon as I realized what I was looking at, I knew that a tiny Jack Sparrow figure could not be far away, and indeed I was right. He came with a tiny Will Turner too, and I dug out every piratey toy in my collection to further populate the crew. I've got a second Pirate Spongebob, but he's wearing a big captain's hat and this ship already has a captain, so he stayed ashore.

The coolest thing about this for me is that Ariel there hung out on top of a childhood birthday cake of mine, and I've managed to hold onto her for all these years. I was obsessed with The Little Mermaid from kindegarten to about third grade so I can't recall the exact year.

In the background behind the cake, you'll see my Coke & Vanilla Grey Goose, aka the reason I didn't do quite the job documenting the evening's festivities that I did the afternoon's XD

Guys, look out behind you!!!

The cake was delicious, of course. Even better with coffee fudge chunk ice cream.

All in all it was a great way to celebrate my birthday (which is Tuesday). After cake, we all got completely toasted, while wearing our awesome Getty Villa party hats which absolutely enhanced the experience. As if the day hadn't already been indulgent enough to me, everybody agreed to go along with my pick to watch Death Proof, making an already awesome day end on a high note.

The aftermath:

Barely made a dent so far! I'll be eating delicious cake all week.

This morning I got up, and armed with coffee and my lucky birthday hat I started uploading. There was much petting of cute Beans and Skitzos, playing of GTA IV and just plain old kicking it to be had throughout the day. Couldn't have asked for anything better 8D

Okay, on further consideration, I could ask for one tiny little thing better...I'd ask for us to not to be getting our asses handed to us by the Celtics right now. Oh well, you need the bitter to taste the sweet :P
