I am so glad that Lacey called me last night. She stayed up until 1 am so that she could call (because of the time difference), and I know that she gets up for work at 6 am or earlier. Obviously, she needed to talk.

She's gone through so much shit in the last couple of months that it's just unbelievable. For starters, she lost her job (

You should invite her to stay with us for a weekend. It wouldn't be that expensive for her to travel (probably less expensive than being on the phone for hours :), and you two would have a good time together. The critical thing is just picking a good time.

It's worth thinking about, anyway.

That would definitely be fun. She's never been to San Francisco, so there's a lot of stuff we could do. I just don't think she's up for the expense of it. I know it's only a few hundred dollars, but she is thinking of canning her summer trip to Savannah because of losing her job.

I don't think she's going to get away all summer--not that I think that's the wise thing to do. I'll float this by her.

I'm glad you like it, but I'm inclined not to post comments because I fear it would start to seem weird. If all of Kate's posts have some sort of cutesy comment from me, then it could start to make other people (like you) feel uncomfortable, and then she might not get as many posts. So, I try to keep from overwhelming the conversation.

To be fair, it's also much easier to reply in person. Talking is faster than writing, and you don't have to take time to make sure you composed everything correctly.
