all's clear on the western front
Kobe wasn't hit with the earthquake. Some friends said they felt shaking, but I didn't feel a thing. I was surprised when I read about it in the news, then I told my teacher, then they turned on the TV and we watched a giant wave hit somewhere in Iwate. And watched footage of Sendai Airport basically under water (you can see the top halves of cars and runway vehicles, but that's about it). And there was a factory in Chiba on fire.
But Kobe is safe. We had a tsunami warning, but any wave would hit Awaji first...which made me worry about my friend's family, but I dunno if they're on the southern tip or not. I shoulda emailed him.
Except our email and phone reception is hella spotty right now (or was last night). Internet seems ok, though.
