So, as you all know I am living in Kobe. And being in Kansai, Kobe has a bit of a...fun dialect. So! In my attempt to teach myself, I shall also try to teach you all!
So, ~している (shiteiru) is basically the -ing form for verbs.
話している (hanashiteiru) = I am speaking
聞いている (kiiteiru) = I am listening
However! In Kobe they have their own way of saying it, and that is ~しとん (shiton). So we get things like this:
何しとん？ (nani shiton) = What are you doing? (I hear this one a lot.)
話しとん (hanashiton) = I am speaking
So the next time you watch an anime or drama with a Kansai person, listen to how they end their verb forms and see if you can spot the differences~
(I think it's specifically a Kobe thing. In Osaka I think they use してん, so, for example, 何してん？ Those more learned feel free to correct me.)
In other news, went to an enkai and had a headache the entire time thanks to hurting my neck at judo. Eh-heh. Must work on ukemi.
In other, other news, mom and Mecchan arrive in less than two weeks~
Also also, WHYYYY can't I find FMA ep 13 on mega video? Did FUNimation ban it there too but left select eps up? How am I supposed to watch it with a translation now? ;_;
