As I have mentioned before, I take kyuudou lessons at a shrine (er, I've at least mentioned the lessons). But I've never mentioned who this shrine is dedicated to.
The shrine is for Wakaihirume (spelling...probably wrong). Wakaihirume is better known by her adult* name, Amaterasu.
Yes. I shoot arrows at a shrine for the sun goddess. Cue my Okami loving heart. Sensei even refers to her as okami. >.>
And April 12 is a spring festival for the shrine. I'm so gonna be there.
*from what I can understand of what sensei said, the name Amaterasu is given as a young being (wakai meaning young) is Wakaihirume. When she's an adult she's known as Amaterasu.
