Seifer was not in a good mood.

Despite Mai being back, it was during his most tumultuous time given the events that transpired between him and the "troublesome twosome" (being Harley Quinn and Larxene, if it were not obvious enough). The confusion of his hate/hate relationship with Larxene, the dilemma of actually trusting Harley (and Harley trusting him), the guilt of not having yet told Mai about what has happened...this all added to the tension caused by the "shadowy figure" he had heard about in his prefect's bulletin.

~~~
"MOVE, YOU INGRATES!" he yelled as he pounded on each and every door in Slytherin. During the evacuations, he felt no remorse for the students and waved them through the hallways to the Great Hall. Being the lone responsible Slytherin Prefect (with Azula being gone and Larxene being as mysterious as this dangerous stranger), he evacuated the entire Slyyherin hall with only his presence...and Hyperion, the gun blade. He figured that would count in a case of "using it responsibly."
Once everyone had gotten into the Great Hall, he did a head count and then marched with a snarl that showed his raw animosity and rage. "Someone needs to talk. NOW. I'm taking this thing down and there's not a damn thing it can do to prevent that!"
Larxene's interest had been piqued enough by the going ons that for once she decided to actually do her job as Prefect. She wasn't nearly as ostentatious about it as Seifer was, however, which was probably why he didn't notice her. She simply gave a sweet smile to every student she came across and asked them politely to continue on to the Great Hall.
Needless to say, she had half of the Slytherin population terrorised in ten seconds flat.
She took up a position against the wall, enjoying the chaos in the Hall. "Touchy, touchy," she murmured to Seifer as he raged past her.
Seifer turned back to her. Without saying anything to her, he let his eyes sink into her, electric with anger.
Larxene smirked, pushing herself off the wall. "My, my, we are a tad upset." She might have circled him, but she had been holding back on the necessary movements as of late - her bones still shrieked at her when she turned around too fast.
Seifer again stared at her. His pupils dilated at her words. "Not now. Not ever," Seifer quipped through gritted teeth.
"Oh, Seifer." Larxene pouted. "Are you upset at me? My Harley-baby didn't beat you too badly, did she? And here I so wanted her to be careful with you." She sighed, inspecting her nails. This was quite a feat, considering that she was wearing gloves. "After all, you boys are such delicate creatures."
Seifer stopped in his tracks in attempting to walk away from the conversation once she made the "delicate" comment. He then got within an inch in front of Larxene's face. Though he was taller than she was, he made the effort to place his eyes as close to her level as possible.
His breathes came slower, but were more deliberate. With fists clenched at his side and his jaws clenching so hard together, the tension within his stance in front of the source of his frustration was crushing.
Had Larxene been another person, she might have felt intimidated by having Seifer so close up and personal - his larger frame near dwarfed her. But she was not another person. Which was probably why he was doing it in the first place.
Slowly, Larxene smirked. Didn't say a word, just smirked, and waited.
Seifer sneered to the snarky smirk displayed in front of him by Larxene. His anger did not rise from it, as he may had been expecting such a reaction, but he did not cool his temper as he still stood in front of her. The breathes became slower yet, but his eyes remained fiery and intense in their proximity to Larxene.
PallaPalla gathered up a small box resembling a toolkit and her journal and headed out with the other students. She was uncharacteristically quiet as the students were guided to the Great Hall. Along the way, she continued to glance this way and that, as if looking for someone, or something. No, PallaPalla didn't feel comfortable at all, but as they reached the large room filled with students and staff, she became noticeably more herself. The bounce returned to her step, she began to smile again and yes she was humming quietly.
After hoping to get away from Larxene, Seifer spotted Pallas. He had already made accusations about her from his previous journal about seeing Mai. When it turned out that Mai had actually returned, Seifer did feel a twinge of regret, especially since Pallas had never actually done anything to him.
Seifer, still livid with anger about the situation, tried to mask his rage and said in a very tense voice, "Palla..." He stood tall beside her with a stern posture that was more like Byakuya Kuchiki than himself.
Pallas knew Seifer was a grumpy person. It was kind of scary when he laughed or even smiled, but she knew he wouldn't put up with crap either from her or from anyone who messed with her. It was a nice balance, she figured, but the things he'd said before left her wondering just what he really thought of her. She'd never played a trick on him before, and she'd only taunted him because Toph hit him. She had no reason at all to tempt his ire.
Now he was approaching, his expression a bit hard to read. She was good at such things, but he was giving all sorts of mixed signals as she studied his face. Tilting her head with her finger at her chin, she blinked up to him several times, remaining silent for a moment before replying.
"Hello," she said, her tone sound rather... normal.
Seifer felt the weight in his throat that had always inevitably appeared when he was about to apologize for something. Being wrong or feeling wrong...it's kind of a big deal for someone so full of themselves.
"I made some wrongful accusations." Seifer made clear in his voice that he actually did regret it, but stood as though he were about to make an example of the blue-haired girl before him. The rage in his heart sat heavy next to the guilt he felt for making Pallas to be the bad guy in a situation she had nothign to do with.
Instead of continuing on with something logical like "I'm sorry" or "I owe you an apology," he simply muttered, "That is all."
There would be plenty of situations where she would be guilty as charged, but for once in her life she was completely innocent. Pallas stood quietly, blue eyes turned up to regard him with reverence, yet narrowed slightly in irritation. She wouldn't voice those feelings just now. if the time was right later, maybe then.
She didn't want to admit it, but having all the students pulled from their dorms and brought together like this had her a little worried. She'd heard stories of a dark thing but, that was all. Standing beside Seifer made that worry much less. She didn't want to upset him enough that he'd walk away. "Okay," she replied with a nod, her tone reserved but still a hint enthusiastic.
Hearing the simple response of "okay" from Pallas made Seifer's rage boil down a bit. The idea of apologizing to her the "weaker" way didn't seem too ridiculous to him now. Still, the pride in his gut made his throat dry when he wanted to say, "I'm sorry."
What came out was: "I...are you okay?"
He had noticed a bit of concern grow in Pallas' eyes. Knowing it couldn't have been over the matter they were discussing, he was genuinely concerned for his sword-fighting student. In his own mind, he thought of his "student" as an extension of his greatness, and was only looking out for someone who was considered a part of him. Really, who knows why he asked?
She didn't need him to apologize. She could tell he wasn't angry at her, though she suspected he was angry in general. Whoever it was he was mad at, she felt kind of bad for them. Just a little. She also wanted to be there when he beat them up. That would be fun to watch.
His next words were a bit surprising. Pallas blinked several times up at him before slowly looking down. Something was bothering her, but should she tell him? Maybe it was a test to see if she was scared easily, or something like that! But he didn't seem like the kind of person to trick her like that. He would run up to her with his sword drawn if he wanted to see how scared she got. "PallaPalla heard a scary story. Do you know why everyone's here?"
