Name(s): Rangiku, anyone who wants to take Charms (or just wants to visit Ran, because she's that awesome.) Location: Charms Classroom Day: Day 4 Time: Morning Rating: PG (Unless something wildly exciting happens?)

"The book is lame," Rangiku replied lightly. She looked down at Al, shifting slightly so that her girls didn't block him from her line of sight.
A smile graced her lips. "Have you ever wanted to hide something from someone?" She swiveled so that Al had more room to take notes. "The Unbreakable Charm has practical uses that go beyond 'making stuff not break' but all rely on that principle." Absently swirling her scarf around her fingers, she continued.
"If you want to hide something, for example, you could place it in an object and use the Unbreakable Charm to make sure that no one was able to find the concealed item by breaking whatever it was the held it." The sound of scribbling quills continued for a few moments and she pushed herself off the desk. "Charms are all well and good," she reasoned to the class, "but what's the point of putting the effort into learning something that is completely useless? Or that has extremely limited uses?"
Drawing her wand, Rangiku walked to the other side of the classroom. "The point of this class is to teach you things, yes, but you need to think about the practical application." She gifted them with another smile. "I'm too lazy to explain everything. I may as well tell you now that when I ask for essays about spells, I'm looking for ideas about how the can be used. Anyway. Did you have any more questions?"
((OOC: Sorry about that, I wanted to change a couple of things :/))

"Good." Pushing up her sleeves, Ran raised her wand. "This is pretty simple, but you need to be careful with your aim. This is not to be used on people. Trying to make your House's Seeker Unbreakable might seem like a good idea, but... just believe me, it's not." She shuddered theatrically.
Of course, she hadn't tried to make the team Seeker unbreakable, it had been some idiot who'd been trying to hit on her and intelligently made a comment on Hufflepuff being pathetic. Luckily for him, she'd only aimed at his leg. Ah. Memories.
Breaking out of her brief reverie, Ran demonstrated the motion for the charm, slow and exaggerated. "The first motion flows, and the second is almost like a snap towards whatever you are trying to hit. See?" She did it again. "Remember, when you're actually using the spells your movements don't need to be over the top, even though that's a lot of fun. Spells can be done subtly, and sometimes subtle is better. Especially if you don't want to call attention to whatever it is you are trying to make Unbreakable."
Especially if it's another student and they end up in the Hospital Wing for a week.
"The incantation: Nulaffredo." The emphasis came with the snap of the wrist and she repeated the incantation and the spell, a little faster this time. "Okay. I think we're good to go." With a casual flick of her wand, an egg appeared on each students desk. She picked the one up Al's desk and started lightly tossing it into the air and catching it. "You're going to practice on these, and I'll be coming around to see if I can break 'em. Each time an egg breaks you get another. Questions?"

Ran watched as Al cast the spell. His emphasis had seemed a little off, but the motions of his wand had been accurate.
"Looking good, Al." She beamed at him happily and then looked at the egg. Without a moment of warning she poked it off the desk with her wand, watching as it rolled lazily and fell to the floor and landed with a crunch.
"You almost had it," she informed him as she zapped the egg away and another appeared on his desk. "Nulaffredo. More on the 'aff', less on the 'do.'" Leaning on his desk, she watched him expectantly. "Try again?"
A smile graced her lips.

There was a moment of silence. "Right. Go."
