Having a fondness for shiny objects, the suit of armor Seifer was sporting could not go unnoticed. Impressive. It looked like more than just a costume. Her innate curiosity compelled her to draw nearer not willing to strike up a conversation just yet. If she could only give the suit a light rap, it would reveal the authenticity of the metal. Depending on the alloy used, it could fetch a decent price on the bla--

Internally, she sighed. This was supposed to be a business-free evening.

Stealing up some confidence, Brietta strode over to Seifer somewhat confidently. "Nice costume".

Every galleon? Then she'd been right. This "costume" was as pricey as it appeared. "You didn't purchase it just for this occasion did you?". Surely not. A one time affair wouldn't have warranted the expense.

"Nothing in particular," Brietta replied. "Just an angel".

Brietta didn't quite understand his reaction. It was a simple question and an equally simple answer. She nodded when he repeated it then tacked this on for the latter, "No, not really. Showing up the others was never my intent. I'm just here to--".

She paused. Escape reality. Stop worrying about everything that's been happening for one evening?

"Relax".

"Why did you attend?".

"Ah-- yes, the chief," Brietta wasn't really sure who he meant. Whoever it was had enough clout to ensure that the other would attend so she assumed it must be another member of staff. ".. but there's no reason why you couldn't enjoy yourself anyway". Her statement sounded more like a question from her tone.

"I could be mistaken, but it doesn't seem like it...".

"What would you rather be doing?"

It was hard for Quistis to not spot Seifer while her eyes scanned the room, immediately catching the male's tall frame and the bulky armor he was wearing. Seifer was certainly on a roll at surprising Quistis; she hadn't expected to see him at the ball, much less actually dressed up. It was quite amusing, now that she thought about it. She could hardly pass up an opportunity like this to tease the male.

She made her way over to Seifer, amusement apparent in the way her brows were lifted and eyes sparkling slightly. "Dressed up and willingly attending a costume ball? I would have thought you'd consider this a waste of time."

Quistis rolled her eyes at Seifer-- she knew that he was only trying to get under her skin, and she wouldn't allow him to get a rise out of her. She had years and years of practice to master her patience when it came to him. Her hand rested on her hip then, blue eyes returning their gaze back onto the blond male to assess his costume.

"You really went all out, didn't you? Full armor and everything."

"I certainly wasn't expecting to see you here," Quistis answered, giving him an odd look.

"... You're not chaperoning, are you?" Because Quistis expected Seifer to be the kind of person to spike the punch with Firewhiskey rather than monitor the contents.
