Re: Gladrags Wizardwear; Lightning & Kyp (BUT! you can start a new thread with her if you like :D)sun_ofagunJune 17 2010, 10:01:25 UTC
Spotting his temporary apprentice walking into the clothing store, Kyp had a silent debate about whether or not he wanted to face death now, or later. Seeing Lightning head for the dress rack, he very quickly decided that it would be better to get the whole thing over and done with rather than wait around for her to hunt him down.
He wandered into the shop, the Shuckle shuffling after him like it had been for the last three days. A twist of the Force was all it took to turn the shopkeeper's attention away from the thing as Kyp made his way to the changing room.
"White suits you," he announced, leaning against the door frame. "Very virginal."

Kyp folded his arms and gave the woman a once over with his eyes, nothing but sheer amusement written across his face.
"You really are bad with compliments, aren't you?" he asked. "And you won't punch me because that dress is white, and get bloodstains out of white is such a pain."
"Shucks!"
Kyp glanced down at the pokemon scooting towards Lightning. "Also, the Shuckle. It doesn't like it when people hit me."
That was an out and out lie, but she didn't have to know that.

Kyp tilted his head to the side for a moment, before straightening. "And if that dress splits any higher, I'll be able to see your underwear," he pointed out, taking a few casual steps out of leaping distance.
The Shuckle looked back up at the woman before gently head-butting her leg as her muscles slowly relaxed. Kyp raised an eyebrow, face taking on a vaguely thoughtful expression. "She's due back in a few days," was all he said, the unspoken part being that if she was coming back, she had passed Mara's little test with flying colours - and sooner than anyone had expected, too.

"Exactly," was his only response to that. They were both well aware of Kyp's gentlemanly status - or lack thereof.
"That was the general idea," he agreed, half-amused, half-irritated. He'd been of the opinion that the whole thing had been unnecessary - part of the reason he'd made his way to Peru after his apprentice in the first place - but it had proven what it needed to. Kyp raised an eyebrow at her. "What, you haven't been keeping up with the newsletter?"

"Well yes, but that is a universal truth," Kakashi, who hadn't been standing there a second ago, pointed out helpfully.
A bad habit of his profession was one developed a unfortunate addiction to making a entrance when he had the luxury of doing so, although given Lightning's background he halfway expected her to have already noticed him.

"Alright, inside the Alps there is a small tribe of Mole People who use chi magic to dig labyrinths of tunnels, and are one of the first recorded natural users of chi magic," he answered helpfully, rubbing his chin as he admired several display tuxedos.
"I don't have much to gloat about, and I already have enough regrets to get me through the rest of my life so I don't really get them anymore. The dress looks better without the gloves by the way." He did all this without really looking at Lightning, but then turned with an easy shrug. "Believe it or not, this isn't really my scene either, but it's good for the kid's mental health, so we make sacrifices. All we can do is make the most of it."

Clearly Kakashi found Lightning's suggestion an amusing one. "Well now, that is an interesting idea, but I wouldn't want to give away all my secrets

Raising an eyebrow in amusement at Lightning, Kakashi chuckled. "Of course. The instant the students think they know everything you do there is no end to the backtalk."
Soldiers survived by having that mentality ingrained into their very being, it was not something they could forget in a day. Kakashi understood that better than most, having been fighting a war when he was far younger than his students were now. Still, not wanting his students to see the things he had was one of the motivations that drove him to retain his post. That and there was better pay.
Looking pleased, Kakashi smiled in his own unique way at his fellow teacher. "Well that is the idea, though I'm aware it takes a special sort of woman to be interested in someone with my job. Luckily I've prearranged much of my evening's company already. One can never be too prepared."
