Vanille stood in the Staff Lounge, hands on her hips, admiring her handiwork. The Moogles and Moombas had proved a great help, setting up the room and preparing the food. Of course, she hadn't let them do all the work herself. That would be mean! People who treated creatures as nothing more than slaves made her angry. She was glad most at the school seemed to realize they were beings deserving of respect and kindness as much as people were. They even had a club dedicated to their appreciation!
It had been a good decision, coming to Hogwarts. In spite of the unpleasantness that had occurred shortly after her arrival, she felt safer and happier here than she had anywhere else in a long time. And now she was throwing a party, hopefully to get to know and make friends with some of her fellow staff and professors. Life was good.
