Chiyo had been set to the task of gathering children and taking them to one of the rooms which had been converted into a daycare until the antidote was completed or the potion wore off. The train of thought had been that, since Chiyo was so close to the ages most students had become, they would be more likely to go with her than with an unknown adult
( ... )
Ludwig was started when someone unexpectedly spoke up to him.
Oh no, this person probably speaks English! was the first thought that popped into Ludwig's little head. His earlier humiliation in the journal was still burning in the back of his mind, so shamefully he clapped his mouth shut and stared.
"H-hello?" Chiyo tried again, thinking the boy staring at her must just be frightened, not knowing where he was.
She took a few steps closer, moving very slowly so as not to frighten him further. She thought she recognized him, but with the de-aging potion's effects, it was hard to tell. Still, it couldn't hurt to try.
Ludwig wiggled out of his cocoon, wrapping the blanket around his shoulders like a cape and issued Chiyo an attentive nod when she said his name. He didn't look particularly scared, he sat up straight and looked at Chiyo.
This must be one of the girls at Ludwig's new school, and obviously an upperclassman compared to Ludwig. He understood that to mean he should obey her.
