Chiyo had been set to the task of gathering children and taking them to one of the rooms which had been converted into a daycare until the antidote was completed or the potion wore off. The train of thought had been that, since Chiyo was so close to the ages most students had become, they would be more likely to go with her than with an unknown adult.

After leading a few children, like some sort of adorable Pied Piper, to the Hufflepuff common room, Chiyo wondered if anyone had checked the bedrooms. Having been a child very recently herself, she thought perhaps some of them may have hidden away under the beds, or in trunks.

She made her way up the boy's stairs, hoping she wouldn't get in trouble for being in their dormitory. She was being helpful, after all, and sometimes rules were okay to break. Maybe? Sort of? With her feelings of apprehension growing as she continued looking through the boy's dorms, Chiyo soldiered on, sure that it would be understood if anyone caught her there.

Finally, in the seventh-year dorm, she spotted someone. "Um... hello?" she said.

Ludwig was started when someone unexpectedly spoke up to him.

Oh no, this person probably speaks English! was the first thought that popped into Ludwig's little head. His earlier humiliation in the journal was still burning in the back of his mind, so shamefully he clapped his mouth shut and stared.

"H-hello?" Chiyo tried again, thinking the boy staring at her must just be frightened, not knowing where he was.

She took a few steps closer, moving very slowly so as not to frighten him further. She thought she recognized him, but with the de-aging potion's effects, it was hard to tell. Still, it couldn't hurt to try.

"Ludwig-senp-- um, Ludwig?"

Ludwig wiggled out of his cocoon, wrapping the blanket around his shoulders like a cape and issued Chiyo an attentive nod when she said his name. He didn't look particularly scared, he sat up straight and looked at Chiyo.

This must be one of the girls at Ludwig's new school, and obviously an upperclassman compared to Ludwig. He understood that to mean he should obey her.

Ah, so she was right. He was her older Housemate. She'd seen his journal entry earlier, and wondered how on earth they were going to communicate. He seemed to understand only very basic English, and she didn't know German at all.

So, she'd have to start slow. "Follow me," she said, her words accompanied by an exaggerated beckoning motion.

Ludwig understood the gesture. Crawling to the edge of the bed and sliding off, he took his place next to Chiyo and prepared to follow her. He wasn't sure what she wanted, or where they were going, but he trusted this person not to lead him somewhere terrible.

If it looked like that was the case though, he would bolt.

He looked up at her again, somewhat expectantly. She knew his name, but he wanted to know hers. For the life of him, he couldn't remember how to ask. When he got home he was going to ask his mother for books about English, this was getting far too frustrating.

Chiyo smiled at Ludwig as he walked over to her. She didn't know him well at all, despite the fact that they were in the same House. She had only seen him eating at the Hufflepuff table, and perhaps on occasion nodded to him in greeting while walking down the hall.

It occurred to her, as he stared up at her, that he probably currently had no idea who she was. "I'm Chiyo," she said, pointing at herself. "We need to go downstairs so the adults can watch you." She said this very slowly, drawing out each syllable while attempting to pantomime what she meant. It may have looked more like she was having a seizure, however.
