More than likely unknown to Seras, Catty had taken a seat on the railing of the stairs leading down from girls' dorms, her tail resting peacefully in her lap, humming softly. It was the little scratching sounds and soft mouse noises that alerted her to the mouse. And while she may have been the sanest creature in Wonderland, and she may have still had a mostly human body, Catty was still a cat, and what better fun than to follow after the little Seras Mouse.
She made her way gracefully down the steps, following the trail at a slow pace. After all, it would be no fun to catch her before the game really began, and Catty had nothing better to do for awhile. She slid out of the entrance, the Fat Lady muttering something to her that she paid little attention to.
The mousie scurried down the hallway, keeping to the edges and sniffing along it the whole way. She wasn't aware she was being followed at all until she heard the voice. Panicking, she scampered further down the hallway and around the corner. It wasn't until then that she realized who the voice had belonged to.
Going back the other way, Seras poked only her little nose and black eyes around the corner, "Catty...?"
Catty's new ears (which were quite handy, to be quite honest, picking up all kinds of wondrous sounds) twitched at the little mousey voice, and her grin picked up as she saw the little mousey head pop up around the corner. How cute~
She crouched down on the floor, crawling closer to Seras until she was within arm's reach of Catty. She poked the little mouse. "Where, oh where, if the mouse scampering off to? Suuuuuuch a big place. You'll get lost unless you know where you're going~"
The mouse flinched when she was poked, rather terrified. Seras had been right, it was Catty. Only she was much more of a cat than ever. "Catty? Is that really you? I had hoped to find you..." she trailed off. Maybe she shouldn't tell her what she wanted after all. Could Catty really help her in the mad state she was in now?
The Cheshire propped her chin on her hand, the finger of the free hand poking the mouse again. Such a cute toy, but her tastes were much too refined to make Seras a meal. The only terror that would come from Catty would be a bit of bullying. "But instead I found you! Doesn't seem you were looking hard, mousey."
"Ah! You're right..." She really should have been trying to look harder, but her mind was part mouse, after all. It was also very hard to tell where she was in such a big castle and before she knew it she had been long past the 6th year's room.
"Catty, can you help me get to Apollo?" she squeaked out.
"Of course~ When has the Cheshire ever been wrong, Dormouse?" Well, the cat was sure she had been wrong at some point. Or maybe it was more like those she spoke to didn't quite understand the things she said, in which case that was their problem, for she always gave such sound advice.
"Left?" she squeaked, turning her head in the suggest direction. "But Catty, I just came from that way!" If a mouse could frown, she would. "Wouldn't it be best to head towards the Ravenclaw Common Room?"
Catty looked when Seras did, in the same direction. "If you have the answer of which way to go, why ask for help?" How tedious, these ones who had clues but never quite used them. If only the cat could frown and sigh... But then she wouldn't be the Cheshire, after all.
Oh, how confused Seras was! She looked back at the girl-turned-cat, "Catty, you're not making any sense at all!" she squeaked with frustration. "All I want to do is find Apollo! Not run all over the school all lost! It's bad enough being like this!" Oh, she wanted to cry now. She wondered if a mouse even could cry, but if it could surely she'd be doing so already.
"I am making absolute sense!" If Seras knew that she should go to the Ravenclaw Common Room, then why ask for directions towards the person she was looking for? Really, now. Did nobody have any sense left? Any nonsense, if she wanted to be accurate on the matter. "How is one lost if they know where to go?" Catty kept her voice calm.
Poor Seras. Once Catty came back to herself, she'd find some way of making this all up to her.
The mouse squeaked! "I know where I want to go, I just don't know how to get there! Everything's so much bigger than I'm used to!" Oh, she'd have such a headache later on.
She made her way gracefully down the steps, following the trail at a slow pace. After all, it would be no fun to catch her before the game really began, and Catty had nothing better to do for awhile. She slid out of the entrance, the Fat Lady muttering something to her that she paid little attention to.
"My little dormouse~ Where have you gone?"
