Laguna had been wandering the halls himself, not exactly in the greatest of moods. No, he wasn't mad. But he was fairly down. Consequently, he stayed in his office for a bit too long and now his leg was cramping up in a way that he hadn't felt since the first time he got this wound back in the US Army. So, he decided to wander the halls and warm his leg up. Of course, his limp was a bit more pronounced than normal.

But that didn't stop him from walking under a stairwell, pausing and then backtracking until he was completely beneath it. Then, he looked up. He raised an eyebrow and grinned. "What are you doing up there?"

Dante was crouched in a very gargoyle-esque manner on the staircase, almost as if he was clinging to the steps with demonic claws rather than simply kneeling in a comfortable fashion. Of course the laws of magic in this area dictated he did not have to cling to an "upside down" staircase because gravity for him was still aimed towards what passed as the floor. He grinned and one prominent canine poked out the side of his mouth rather deviously.

"Hanging around~" he answered amiably enough.

Laguna chuckled. "I can see that."

He blew his bangs from his face and pointed his cane. "I don't think I've met you before. Are you new or have you been 'hanging around' so much I never saw you?"

"Been here longer than you, Teach," he replied somewhat flippantly. So far he didn't really have anything against this Hogwarts staff member. The guy was a little too friendly for his taste, but Dante couldn't condemn Laguna for that. On the other hand it made him an easy target for the times Dante needed something to lash out at.

But as Laguna implied, Dante didn't really know this particular teacher all that much. Loire was new this year if he remembered correctly, and Dante hadn't been doing much proper schoolwork this year so far. (And he'd lost his journal for most of the beginning half at that.)

"So I guess you could say I've been 'hanging around' so much you haven't noticed me yet."

And then onto Runes, the longer classes, the one that put her to sleep if the right subject came up. She wouldn't comment with it lout-loud, but indeed, Lady thought in the back of her mind that a class over the subject felt redundant. All to get the major exams out of the way to please her aunt.

Yet speaking of that... She was in a sour mood, yet it seemed to have lightened receiving a compliment from her teacher, earlier. At least she was doing better. Coming down the hallway with a steady pace, Lady seemed more preoccupied stuffing a textbook in her bag. The paintings surrounding the area were something she was used to it. A part of her remembered being terrified of the painting of the Leanan Sidhe in the back, but...

The color of red was in the corner of her eye. Thinking it was a change in the painting, she regarded it with a second glance-

Wait. Amongst her giggling housemates, Lady glanced up, right above ( ... )

Dante glanced down at Lady with a smirk on his face. It was somewhat apparent that had he been on the ground and not so oddly hanging off the ceiling like a freaking spider his pose would have been rather relaxed and cocky looking. He managed to still pull it off somehow despite gripping the ceiling corner--it was easier to grip where the wall met, and sometimes he moved to chill "right-side up" like he was sitting on the wall and the ceiling was simply his backrest--with rather long fingernails. The fact that he was defying gravity without using a spell did not occur to him to be odd in the least.

"Hanging around, skipping classes--you know, the usual," the red-clad student replied. As an after thought he actually added, "...I was bored."

"Well," Lady sighed, shifting as if she was about to walk away -- considering the last conversation, Lady wanted to make a point to avoid him. What was going on here? It wasn't disturbing or unusual, maybe some of them had a penchant for hanging in... odd areas.

Yeah, right.

"That's retarded." Lady concluded, looking back at her bag, "Couldn't you skip out like normal people do? Not hang all over?"

Rorschach was onto something about the lack of authority, wasn't he...

Dante just frowned lightly at her and tilted his head to the side slightly. Then resumed his normal demeanor, including the cocky grin.

"No. Where would the fun be in doing something boring like that?"

Hank was a teacher who believed that everyone had potentional to make their life successful, joyous and all things good. There was one particular student he noticed had been avoiding his classes, sure most of them were in the middle of the night but it had come to the point where there were questions that needed answers- now.

The furry teacher had beeing crouching, trying to catch scent of the boy by it was odd the way it moved about the whole school. It was not consistent in the slightest and it was very frustrating, students us- and that was when he noticed the scent was coming.. Above?

..How peculiar, in his best italian suit Hank easily padded up the wall and gave the occasional sniff to follow the odd scent that popped up here and there.

Dante should have known that of all the teachers it would be this one to come after him. Who better to track an erring student than someone with as bizarre abilities as the one being tracked?

The teen smiled to himself as he decided to make the game more interesting. At least, it was all a game to him.

Dante scuttled out of his current little cranny and headed straight for the staircase. It was an easy place to get lost in--especially if you were capable of jumping from one set of stairs to another without fear of harm. He leapt from one set of stairs facing "right side up" to a shifting set of stairs "up side down," scrambling for perchance on the edge as he slightly miscalculated the speed of the moving stairs. He scrambled "up" those and darted behind a parallel set, unmoving, and crouched beneath them on the "under side" (the side not walked on) in waitful hiding.
