[Locked to staff]

God I hate teenagers. Arrogant sons of bitches, all of them.

To those of you with more experience: How do you get through the day without just punching one of them? Just a little punch. Won't even bruise for long.

Let me know if you figure that out.

I definitely will.

I'll make a damn flow chart. With graphics.

Throwing the whole class in detention doesn't seem to be satisfying enough, and apparently even that's frowned upon here.

My problem with detention is, that means you have to interact with the fuckers outside of class. More than is actually deemed necessary from the job description.

That just seems counter-intuitive to me.

Some of us have self-control, Mr. Winchester. And detention is a far more useful and satisfying tool than the baser method of violence.

Which student is giving you trouble?

Hey I have plenty of self-control. Case in point: no one has been punched yet, and I've made it through a whole day of classes.

Don't worry about it. Just arrogance. Can't stand people who don't respect their superiors, you know?

Just a day? You have a long road ahead of you.

protecthim May 5 2010, 21:12:55 UTC
Tell me about it. And that road is looking longer and longer every minute.

Just tune it out, Dean.

[checks to make sure Dean did a decent lock before adding] It can't be any worse than what I've been dealing with.

Dude, this kid today. Telling me. That he knows more about fighting ghosts and shit than me. THAN ME.

Tell me right now that I shouldn't have popped him one.

What have you been dealing with?

...And you DIDN'T punch him? Wow. I'm proud of you. What I've been dealing with is just teenagers with teenage problems, so very not important problems.

Why not just-- whenever we got uppity with Dad, he'd always put us in our place. I mean if this kid is so convinced he's better, why not make a lesson out of it? Through him at something scary and then save him if he can't handle it. That should keep him quiet for a few days, right?

Yeah I know. I just like... the more I think of it, the less I think Dad's methods are exactly a healthy alternative.

But then again, the thought of this kid wetting his pants with a banshee on his tail is incredibly satisfying.

Beats me. I'd like to give a couple of 'em one good lump in the back of the head.

Exactly!

You know how students are making clubs right now? I think we should make a professor club, in which we make dolls of students and just punch them for a while. That could be a healthy outlet for this aggression.

Sign me up for that. 'Course, can't see it working out, what with all the Ministry folk and the Headmaster around. We've gotta be sensitive you know, all that bunk.

protecthim May 5 2010, 21:09:38 UTC
Yeah.

It could be a super secret club.

Are we to assume that you skipped directly from childhood to adulthood then, Professor Winchester? [amused Leia is amused]

Hey, I was an annoying kid but I respected my superiors. My dad taught me that much.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but I believe that makes you an anomaly amongst teenagers.

At the very least, their being obnoxious means they don't have larger worries. I find it helps to remind yourself of this...oh, every five minutes or so.

Yeah, well. Lucky me.

That's true. Although some of them could maybe do with some larger worries sometimes. Like, say, punches.
