I'm watching the movie Four-Eyed Monsters as I type this.  It's really good.  Different, but good.

So...what's been going on?

I'm working a lot on my creative projects.  Just recently, I did a new thing.  It was a commission, and wow, what a learning experience!  It was exciting and cool, and a little stressful.  I'm taking a little rest after all of that hard work, but soon I'll be back in my little cave.

The weather here has been so up and down.  I wish it would just be warm and nice for a month.  A whole month, please.  Is that too much to ask?  It's May, and we're still seeing freezing temps.  It's really out of the ordinary.

I'm glad that things are blooming.  In the backyard, the lilac tree, the wild violets, the rogue tulips.  I don't think I can really do a garden this year, which makes me a little sad.  But last year was such a crashing failure, I can't stand to put that much work into it only to see it fail.  Maybe next year I'll get back to it.  I don't want to stop gardening, but this year I need a break.  I'm contemplating focusing on the yard, maybe.

Owen is doing great, speech-wise.  He just started a little speech group with a few other kids, and he loves it.  He doesn't even seem to care that I have to leave him at the door, and he keeps asking if he can go.  Well, okay, he just runs to the stroller and garbles in the form of a question, but hey.  We're getting there.  He's turning two in a few weeks.  Amazing.

Elliot just lost his first baby tooth.  I could tell he was freaked out, but after we hugged him and told him it was all part of growing up, he seemed okay with it.

Carl is working on getting a swingset built in the backyard for the boys.  It's something we've talked about for ages, but finally he is getting it done.  I can't wait to see the looks on the boys' faces when we show them.

I'm making a fancy steak dinner tonight, at Carl's request.  Thanks, Trader Joe's, for selling steaks so cheap!  There will be sauteed kale and some kind of potatoes.  I made homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream yesterday, so that will be dessert.
