today's two cents on god and free will
i just encountered a concept in which God does exist and people DO have free will.
i'm reading this book right now called "Invisible Monsters" by the duder who wrote "Fight Club" and one of the characters in the book made this comment about how, since we DO have free will, that all of us are God's television-- he just flips the channels to see how we're doing. (so if God does EXIST, he must only fuck with things when he wants to. like choose which characters in which television shows need more drama or more help, etc.) And, to follow the metaphor that life is telvision, the character in this book said that non-celbrities get to play god with the lives of the beautiful people (celbrities) whose lives are documented through reality shows.
i thought this was interesting because it gives US power. you know, like how collectively we can fuck with celebrities livelihoods by choosing who's not going to be the next American Idol or who they won't give the MTV Viewers' Choice Awards.
