big day out was okay. highlights were lcd soundsystem of course (oh if only we were there to enjoy the entire set!) and Battles. i dont know if i like Battles so much as i was just liking the newness of the sound - it was strange. i was in the mood for the music i guess and although normally i dont like music that rough sounding, i liked it. actually i'm finding myself more and more attracted by rather aggressive sounding music which is a little strange.
a little saddened by the fact that the round stadium type lilypad was replaced by a soulless enclosure which required an 18+ wristband to enter. nothing interesting once inside.
i'm thinking that i prefer the V festival to the big day out for next year, i dont know what it is but i find the only worthwhile experience is a 45 minute set of a band you want to see - and is that worth the high ticket prices and crowds?
two things which i noted while walking and dancing - guys would walk by and push/shove/rub/hit themselves against me. accidental or do a lot of guys engage in frottage? another one on the dance floor - a guy would walk up and ask "can i touch your ass?" and not waiting for an answer, proceed to touch my ass freely, continuing even when i threaten to hurt his man parts. it wouldnt be worthy of note at all other than a random idiotic act, except that it happens every time on a dance floor and seems to be a common way to pick up or annoy girls. maybe i'm old fashioned or behind the times and i should be flattered that some random guy helps himself to my body parts. call me a prude but i prefer "hi, how are you?" as a pickup line.
i'm on a mission to collect all 45 Brigitte Bardot movies and obsessively watch them. so far it's proving like a doable task. they are so perfect in every way. she's always been my favourite lust object ever since i saw her for the first time at 12. she's just so beautiful from every angle and to watch her on screen is hypnotic. i do love her for what she is and what she projects - she is the only actress that can make me feel so many things purely by the way she looks and moves (ok mostly lust). better stop myself here.. movie today: "..and god created woman" - if you haven't seen it, please do so now. and i mean now.
