Taking 3-D Photographs

Sep 08, 2009 22:22

Took a trip to Yosemite coupla weeks ago. I hate how pictures of scenery always comes out looking really flat, especially if you have a super dinky camera like I do. So, I decided to try making stereo photos so that you can watch them in 3-D! Thanks to the internets and photo-editing software...like photoshop..., we now have the technology! :) Here are a couple of pictures I took:

First, look at how boring and flat this scene is; so busy... so many rocks:

Tree branches... how boring and confusing D:

El Capitan... yawn....

And now....

::drummmmrollll::

Dynamicized!!

(ok, this one is a little spazzy bc of the angle I took the pic in)

In stereo!!

3-D! Wow! Bam! Zazzing!! How exciting and dynamic!

Now check out how a different focal point affects the depth perception:

(the effect is very subtle so it might take a few seconds to see the difference)

You may have seen other people do this before... that's where I got the idea. They're pretty easy to make, but a bit time consuming, and it takes quite a few tries to get the angles right.

Anyhow, I'll be posting more when I make more, but I just wanted to show these first! :)
