Firefly
Useful: Jayne assures Kaylee that she is, in fact pretty. It takes place after the show but before the movie, and it's just a cute bit of fluff.
The Light Fantastic: Simon and Kaylee just before the party in Shindig, happy fluff.
Waltz (Firefly): Just after Shindig, happy fluff with Simon and Kaylee.
Powerful Weapons, Sexy Machines: Another Jayne/Kaylee fic, but this one fits into canon. It's post-War Stories and pre-Objects in Space.
Box of Birds: This is an adorable ficlet that starts out Wash/Zoe but then becomes a fic that deals with all of the crew members.
Mail Call: Jayne writes a letter to his mother. This is adorable.
Trousseau: A short drabble about River, her clothes, and her independence.
Five Things That Never Happened to Simon Tam: So in this ficlet, Simon isn't HUMAN. Which is weird, but kind of awesome.
The Boy She Left Behind: Inara used to be a man. I find this very interesting and also sort of plausible.
Five Times Jayne Almost Left Serenity: How Jayne adjusts to life onboard as a member of the crew.
Recalculation: Jayne's POV on recalculating the shares and figuring out what each crew member is worth.
Eavesdown: Ever wondered about Kaylee and Simon's first meeting, when he booked his passage on Serenity? Well this fic will explain exactly how it went down - for me, this is practically canon.
In Stitches: This is just a story I'm going to want to read over and over again. It's light, but it captures those family moments where the crew is just hanging out together and I love those feelings.
Five Times Kaylee Smiled: This is Jayne/Kaylee, and it's just so sweet!
Ties That Bind: It's really hard to keep my attention on long fics, mostly because I don't have the patience to scroll through so much text on the computer screen, but this one just got me. We travel to Kaylee's home planet, but this is really more about Simon and River, and their relationship with their parents. Wonderful characterization and just an all around fabulous story.
Eight First Kisses: Here's a River-centric one, eight first kisses, one with each of the crew members. It's really realistic and interesting to get inside River's head and imagine these scenes play out.
By Æsculapius, Hygeia, and Panacea: This fic explores each character onboard the ship through Simon's physical medical examinations of each of them. An interesting way to analyze each character and their relationship to him.
Dandelion: This is a cute, short little piece about a kitten.
Tabitha: This is about how Zoe and Wash deal with getting pregnant and (maybe) having a child.
Unexpected Perils: River flirts with Mal and makes him very uncomfortable.
The following stories may contain spoilers for Serenity.
The First Secret: Wash and his dinosaurs, through River's eyes.
Rule of Flying: In which River becomes a part of Serenity, quite literally.
What River Knows: Here is a ficlet about twenty one things that River knows. It's really sweet and feels just like her. Slightly Mal/River.
Blood on His Hands: What if Zoe had died instead of Wash? This fic will show you why it had to be him.
Hybrid Lives: How everyone deals with the events of Serenity, so sort of like an epilogue.
Memories of Guns: The first in a series of short ficlets about Zoe and Wash's daughter, in the AU where Serenity never happened. I drew from this as inspiration for a few things I wrote about their daughter, and it's a lovely bunch of stories.
The Night Shift: How Kaylee and Zoe deal with Wash's death.
Singing on a Spaceship: How Kaylee deals with Wash's death.
And all I ask (is a tall ship and a star to steer her by): More Kaylee dealing with Wash's death.
Indistinguishable From Magic: River turns back time so that one particular event never has to happen.
A Place to Be: They're all together at last, but not in the way you'd expect.
Dear Zoe: A letter Wash wrote to his wife, predictably heartbreaking of course.
Memories of Flowers: How Kaylee deals with death, and how Serenity is always there for her.
All You Can't Leave Behind: An extended version of Mal and Zoe's talk at the end of the movie Serenity. It really expllores the depth of their relationship without bringing sex into the equation, which I like.
Pieces on the Ground (Sweet Dreams and Flying Machines): A short scene between Kaylee and Mal that wasn't in the movie but could have been.
Bronze Star Heart: Just a short, sweet, slice of life gen fic.
Learning to Fly: Kaylee/Mal. Not one of my ships, but this story certainly makes it plausible.
One Man Down: How the crew deals with Wash's death.
A Story To Tell: Wash and Zoe's daughter hears stories from the rest of the crew about the kind of man her dad was.
