SOPA/PIPA
SOPA is still in the shadows and now PIPA is looking to make it's debut in the spotlight. I checked Wikipedia yesterday to see what the blackout would look like. I didn't like it. In fact, it showed me how much I use Wikipedia and how much I depend on it. SOPA is supposed to be voted on in Congress on the 24th. I'm sure after hearing from their constituents, they'll be wise and listen to us. PIPA is next on the table. If I understand correctly, PIPA is similar to the government imposed black out used by Egypt during the liberation this past year. That's just as scary.
I enjoy (sarcasm) how the government tries to control the internet. Clo and I discuss this constantly. When the internet was first created in the late 80's early 90's, the government had no idea it would blow up like this. The information explosion that is. You can learn anything on the internet. Anything! If you have the internet, you will never be in the dark. So I wonder if those in power want to make us into an ignorant populace again. Put us in the dark. Those that have the money have the knowledge have the power. Sorry. I often go off on wild conspiracist rants when it comes to these things.
