Rabbit and I worked on the registry (which is now live on the website) and then went horesback riding yesterday. Some friends of mine out in Vail have horses and invited us to come play with them. Rabbit had a total blast; he loved the speed and getting to play and everything.
Me? Well... when I was younger, horses scared the heck out of me. Then I went to Girl Scout camp at a horse camp for a few years and, while they still scare me quite a bit, I can at least tolerate them. Yesterday I rode on Lily, aka Mom. She was wonderful, although she was terribly stubborn. I got her walking with some help from Mary and Liese, then got her to trot for a very short time. WOOT! She's a mustang, so that was very cool. Rabbit rode on Snickers, a very persnicikity horse who went very fast. He loved it.
Liese and Rabbit talked about having him go riding on Snickers while in full armor and he's totally stoked about it. I think it'll make for some good photo opps which will be super awesome. It's definitely something he loved doing. I enjoyed myself as well; maybe next time I'll be a bit more brave and ride for longer. We'll see.
Facing your fears can be a good thing, that's for sure. Am I still nervous around horses? Sure. I mean, I look at it as a giant beast capable of crushing me with one hoof. However, you can look at a car the same way. Just have to learn how to work with it.
I'll post a picture once I upload them.
