so i made it to oklahoama city. i'm staying a hotel tonight since the apartment complex office was closed by the time i got here. the drive was okay. i started to get bored somewhere around springfield, mo when i saw a sign that said historic route 66. so that livened things up. it's pretty cool now that i can say i drove for about 200 miles on route 66 (about half my trip for today). around tulsa it split off and just went back to being I-44 and the new route 66, which just isn't as cool. i also got to see the arch in st. louis today. that was cool. i would have taken a picture, but my camera batteries were dead, i was driving in the rain, and it was cloudy so it blended in a little bit. i'll be making this drive again in the fall with Chris, so, since he will be driving, i can take lots of pictures then. i really miss home but i love the never-ending prarie of the Great Plains. yeah, i'm a bit of a nerd. but it is so beautiful. i like American history stuff, so its fun to drive through the prarie and think about its rich history. it's really cool around here. (and i do not mean temperature-wise.. it was about 103* when i got here.)
my cute little dog is so exhausted. she was afraid of the hotel last night because the air conditioner was pretty loud. she slept a little bit in the car, but every time i had to stop for gas or slow down to go through a toll booth she woke up. she is passed out right now. so far i've only gotten her up by saying 'food' and 'walk'. she's so adorable! :-) i'm glad i brought her. this would be even harder without her. alright, i'm getting kinda sleepy so i think its time to go.
