Veronica Mars

I've asked on TWoP, but I don't really have a presence there anymore to demand answers, so I implore my flist Veronica Mars watchers to answer me this...

Why does everyone think Lamb was an abused child? I didn't get that at all from his little speech. I got something completely different.

What did you get? I thought Lamb was equating his own father with the accused child abuser. He may or may not have been revealing that his own father was an abuser, but it did sound like it to me. Plus, we don't know much about Lamb's backstory and Michael Muhney was working the clenching of the oh-so-manly jaw angle pretty well. I agree that it's not necessarily abuse that he was referring to (his father could have just as easily been selling drugs or making squish videos), but the signs do kind of point in that direction. It could also be that some people are making Lamb this year's woobie, and it's easier to excuse assy behavior if the character is damaged by childhood trauma.

On the other hand, over speculating on cryptic lines made Alias's Rachel a lesbian, while the preview for next week's episode seems to indicate something else.

And for my icon, I must use last year's woobie. I'm not immune.

That is a very interesting theory. I never really thought much about Woody's motives in trying to get away from Lamb as ultimate policing power. It certainly isn't because he can't buy Lamb. Lamb has demonstrated that he's for sale a few times. I always thought it was because Keith is such a strong and honest person that it would reflect better on Woody. But that's kind of a weak idea.

I like that theory. Then again, I have a soft spot for crackpot theories. I come up with enough of them. (My VMars theory was that Logan knew that his father killed Lilly on some level and just never dealt with it. So far, no sign of that one coming to pass.)
