I've asked on TWoP, but I don't really have a presence there anymore to demand answers, so I implore my flist Veronica Mars watchers to answer me this...
Why does everyone think Lamb was an abused child? I didn't get that at all from his little speech. I got something completely different.

I actually thought it meant Lamb had busted his own father for something, and was letting the Mannings know he had the power. I think when Lamb went back to the house, it was to have a little talk with Gracie's dad. And I doubt Gracie was removed, or Daddy physically warned. I think it was another case of blackmail against a prominent 09er family.
But I could be very wrong, due to how people interpreted Muhny's acting choices. I actually developed a crackpot theory about Lamb's father... it's not a spoiler, because it's based on nothing, but I'll give you a chance not to read it.....

Lamb is the bastard son of an 09er family. Specifically Woody the historically known as Mayor Goodman. And based on Lamb saying, "You know, I heard my father give the exact same speech once," I think he's got something big on the Guttenberg, which is why Woody wants Keith in office as sheriff so much.
I don't do spoilers - this was just a combo of the Fathers theme running through the season, Lamb's little speech, which made me wonder WHO his father is, rather than WHAT his father did - and how desperate Woody is to live in a Lambless society.

I like that theory. Then again, I have a soft spot for crackpot theories. I come up with enough of them. (My VMars theory was that Logan knew that his father killed Lilly on some level and just never dealt with it. So far, no sign of that one coming to pass.)
