My computer upgrade is complete, but it didn't go all that smoothly. Due to several technical reasons, I couldn't "clone" or backup all of my computer's settings/configuration, so I had to reinstall the operating system from the discs and am now in the process of transferring over my files and reinstalling other software, like Photoshop Elements ( Read more... )

If your thumb's fingernail is long enough you can use it for quickly and harmlessly disconnecting that little jumper. Yeah, right! None of this disassembly shit is as easy as it looks in the instructional videos, which is not entirely suprising. I've been putting this off for a few weeks, but the time has come to replace the hard drive and RAM on my Mac Mini. I had said that I would wait til I got voted off of laura_lims  in case I fucked up the computer so badly that I couldn't make icons, but I ended up lasting longer than I usually do. I really, really think the hard drive on my desktop is on the verge of failing. I know it may sound like I am paranoid about this sort of thing after my laptop hard drive failed, but I really, really think its only a matter of time before the desktop goes out as well.
