Randomness
1) I will hopefully be getting the iphone 4S soon. I spoke to my parents about it Friday. It'll be cheaper for me to just stay on the family plan and pay them the extra $30 a month for the data fees. Still haven't work out the details yet, so I'm not sure how soon it'll be though. I'm looking forward to it because I've been wanted to get an iphone for a while, but was holding out for the new iphone release in the hopes that it would have an even better camera, and it does. :D
2) They're clearing a huge area of land across the street from my condo complex. They bulldozed an old house, cut down loads of trees, and cleared out all the low lying vegetation. I'm not sure what they did with the rubble from the house, but they are definitely disposing of all the plant debri by burning it. Its spelled like smoke outside since Friday, and there is ash everywhere because the condo complex is downwind of it.
3) I'm at the end of a nice long 3 day weekend. Not that I did much, through. Saturday, I stayed in and did laundry. Sunday, I ran a few errands, but stayed inside most of the day to avoid the smokey smell. Today, I went on a quick trip to the grocery store, but haven't felt like doing much else since its that time of the month. :/ So I've pretty much been a vegetable today. Except that I made Ghirardelli brownies. Those really hit the spot.
4) Pottermore: Its one thing to fail a potion because you just fucked it up. Its another thing to fail a potion because the controls on the page don't respond when you click them, and you waste valuable seconds clicking on ingredients trying to put them in your mortar/cauldron, or trying to stir a pot when the counter when the spoon just won't move, etc. And then there are glitches where it thinks you did something that you didn't, or thinks you didn't do something that you actually did. Like the time with the Antidote to Common Poisons. The instructions said to put one bezoar in the mortar. I put one bezoar in the mortar. The counter registered I put one bezoar in the mortar, and yet, the potion failed because I did not "add enough bezoar to the mortar." And then there was the time that my cauldron melted, even though I kept the temperature within the green range during the entire heating time. WTF? It was the expensive copper cauldron too! I was on a roll for awhile there with all my potions going well, but it seems like the controls have been more finicky the last few days. And the beta feedback for is so generic, you cant even communicate the issue to them.
5) I changed my banner on my profile page. The Sunday Garfield comic strip was so incredibly awesome, I knew the moment I saw it that it would be perfect of my profile page. Its the evolution of Garfield!!
It combines my geeky biology side with my love of orange tabby cats! I cant get much better than that!
