Rhapsody in Blue
If my life has a soundtrack, then this weekend's theme is Rhapsody in Blue. It figures heavily in the soundtrack for Woody Allen's Manhattan, which I saw with TennWill on Saturday night. That movie reminded me of the Rhapsody segment in Fantasia 2000, and since TennWill had never seen it, I rented the movie after church this afternoon. Now I can't get the music out of my head.
It was a pretty quiet weekend, but there's a lot going on at work right now, and I really needed to relax. Besides watching movies with TennWill, I had a few drinks with Mad-Eye Lover on Friday night, and spent a good part of Saturday hanging out and reading fic. I'm finally caught up with fernwithy's Shades, and I have a couple of recs:
a_t_rain is writing Correspondence Course, a new Marauder fic in which Remus and Sirius get summer jobs as Kwikspell teachers.
krabapple wrote Lily's Ten Reason's Why Not, a cute one-shot in which Lily bets James she can come up with ten reasons not to go out with him.
They're both fun stories, and will brighten your day as much as they did mine.
