So Tanya pointed out that I forgot to post about an entire day in Las Vegas. I had it all typed up in advance, but just skipped it somehow. And you know you want to see it, because there's a picture of me with a boy band in it!
We made it to the convention by 8am; they had a free breakfast, which I took full advantage of, and then I went to a seminar from 8:30-10:30 on marketing. The guy was from Kentucky and was saying how he had 50 cousins… but that everyone in Kentucky seems to be related anyway ("If I divorce you, are you still my sister?"). Tanya and Sandra went to a different seminar, and we met up briefly at the trade show in the afternoon before parting ways again to cover ground faster. After three hours of checking out the booths on everything from album printers to lighting to memory cards to framers to online shopping cart providers, I was still only a third of the way through the trade fair, whereas meanwhile, Tanya had powered her way through the entire thing!
I don't care how great your product is; I will NOT buy it if you use Comic Sans MS to advertise!

We met up for lunch at 2pm. We went to the Paris buffet, where we had to wait in line
for about half an hour, but it was worth it. There was roast beef, spinach ravioli, scalloped potatoes, corn on the cob, custom crepes, imported cheeses, seafood, and an array of delectable desserts. We ate for an hour and a half straight, haha. Who knew three skinny ladies could eat so much! I bet the staff wasn't expecting that.
Yummy desserts.
We went straight back to another seminar that ran from 4:30-6:30. We went to different ones, again... I chose one on posing/lighting/marking/selling. The guy was pretty funny. Photographer's joke: "I tried to bounce my flash, but it didn't come back up very high." Joke for everyone: He was saying if you want to learn how to pose people attractively, don't go to seminars -- go to bars and see what looks good!
After the seminar, we ran back to the hotel to drop off our free trade fair loot and Tanya's $2800 in purchases (!), laid down for 5 minutes, and walked back for yet another seminar. I went to one on getting your photos in magazines, and I won a door prize at the end… a $900 gift certificate for website design!! The excitement of the day was still not over, though… when the seminar was finished at 9:30pm, we went to the Champagne Shootout, a competition between four top photographers. They had a free ice cream sundae bar, so I continued the trend of gluttony for the day and indulged. However, the competition was crowded and noisy, so we didn't stay for long.
We thought we were going to go straight to bed when we got back to the hotel at 10:30pm, but we got our second wind and went out for a photo shoot.
We soon found out that if you have a big camera, everyone thinks you would like a picture with them or of them!
It took me awhile to get this shot because my camera was being a tard, but I like how it turned out.

Time for some portraits!
This metrosexual "boy band" SLID into the frame… hilarious!
Awesome mirror shot.
