Although I am back from Mexico, methinks you should send out a search party for me, because it's 11pm and I am in bed, and that is just not what this Sarah does. I got up at 10:30am, too, but for some reason I got home from work and simply couldn't wait to crawl into bed! Perhaps it's because I can cuddle up with my lappy and wireless internet until I drift off, or maybe I need a vacation from my vacation.
I do, of course, have a bajillion photos from my trip, but seeing as I still haven't posted the Ontario ones from June of last year, it could be awhile before I get to them! I am making a slideshow of the best pics for the photography club's "Photofusion" slideshow event this Thursday, however, so that will force me to go through some of them in a timely manner. I love taking pictures, but not so much editing them. I was careful to properly expose and keep my horizons level while down there, though, so that should cut out a lot of my most common edits.
So, a bit about the trip before the photos arrive... in a word, it was fabulous! The resort was nice and secluded, with a beautiful pool and friendly staff. The food was wonderful, and we ate like hobbits: breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, lunch, tea, dinner, supper, and snacks too! It was right by the ocean and I spent a lot of time boogie boarding and ocean kayaking. Other highlights were a jungle boat tour, horseback riding on the beach (twice!), seeing crocodiles, snorkeling, walking to a town 7km away, and releasing baby turtles into the ocean. I met a professional photographer from Vancouver down there, and we did a few photoshoots of each other, so my upcoming photo post will be sprinkled with some narcissism, hehe.
Here is one photo to hold the fort:
Unfortunately, life did not stand still while I was gone. I came back to 150+ emails and the bad news that a potential wedding photography client decided to go with someone else, the lesson horse that I was jumping on (Blue) has been taken out of the program, and I once again did not get the job I have been coveting for three years now. Instead, I am going to pursue my equine photography with full vigor this summer, in hopes of saving up enough to travel in the fall. I really need to make some plans, however. The time is upon me and I can only apply the "the wind will carry me" approach to so many things. At least that's one thing I can count on Lethbridge for... she'll probably give me a gusty goodbye at the very least!
