A fun and encouraging story, of people working past their handicaps and cooperating to make things better for each other. (I'm glad you showed Hermione having thought better of some things, too, and no longer so sure she's right about everything.)

Thanks! Marietta is one of those loose ends in canon that's always bothered me. I've never thought she should have to spend the rest of her life suffering for not being able to stand up to a level of pressure a sixteen year old really shouldn't have to face - especially when we see characters like Draco and Dumbledore making mistakes with far worse consequences and still getting a chance at redemption. I'd like to hope that Hermione would eventually have come to see it that way as well.

I'm so glad you liked it! Percy, Audrey, and Lavender are all characters I've played with before (and have a lot of fun with, obviously), but I've always really wanted the chance to explore Marietta. And I think Millicent running a cafe may now be my personal canon, too.

This was a fascinating look into the bits JKR skipped between the final chapter of DH and the Epilogue. You've done a wonderful job fleshing out these tertiary characters while also showing us what life was like after the fall of Voldemort for people who weren't either Harry's close friends or Death Eaters. But, mostly, I love the sense of hope and forward-looking that fills this fic -- it's about a community of women who come together, put aside their prejudices, and endure.

(Also loved the mention of Hermione rethinking some of her own prejudices.)

Thanks! When it comes to writing fic, minor characters tend to be my favorites; there's so much room to play. And I'm glad the hopeful spirit came through.

I want to leave a longer comment befitting this lovely, amazing story, but I'm about to run out the door to cubscouts! This really is a truly fantastic fic, filled with so much character development that it makes me want to read SO MUCH MORE of them. Really wonderful wordsmithing here. I loved it!

Thanks! I certainly wouldn't mind writing more of them, so that's good to hear. :D

I loved the "behind the scenes" look into not-as-well-known characters. Your characterizations and character development were excellent! Very well-written and enjoyable story! :D
