Perhaps he had become compliant. He lived for Saya, and everything he did was for her. It was more than just him being a chevalier; he honestly loved her more than anything in the world. Yet perhaps he was also using his status as a chevalier to hide from the truth.
Hagi's greatest fear was losing Saya. After that, it was apparently taking the lead.
Saya held his face in her hands, and a small smile was on her lips. "Hagi, please," she said. "You're not just my servant. If you have any desires of your own, you should act on them." She chuckled weakly. "But I guess I'm still ordering you around, aren't I?
"Saya, I only desire to be by your side."
"And what else?"
Hagi froze. Saya was his whole world and he couldn't imagine living without her. He loved only her, and his was a pure…
Of course. So that was what she meant. No one knew him better than she did, so it was only natural that she would know exactly how he felt toward her and what those feelings truly meant.
"Saya," Hagi began, slowly getting down on one knee. He took Saya's hand into his and gently brushed his lips against it. "The time is not yet right for me to act on my desires. Right now, you have a mission and I will do everything I can to aid you. But after that-" he looked up into Saya's eyes, "-I promise I will show you what I desire."
"Thank you, Hagi."
