Title: Fuji's Guide to Falling
Recipient's name: Maxine-chan (maxine_chan)
Rating: PG-13
Pairing(s): Implied Fuji/Mizuki/Yuuta, emphasis on the YuuMi. Overall this is mostly platonic; the 'cest-squeamish need not fear.
Disclaimer: One-line reference to a character from another series (listing which would spoil the surprise). At any rate, I don't own that ( Read more... )

I really loved Fuji in this. You write him very well and it was nice to see a Fuji that wasn't a chainsaw-toting psychotic. The Fuji/Yuuta scene was probably my favorite because of the wonderful detail and just, how you portrayed their relationship. Plus it's always cute to see Fuji taking care of his cacti. :D

Also bonus brownie points for including the Fuji-Shiraishi match. Awesome. :)

Thanks, Goldie. I had a feeling you'd guess me for one thing or another, but I suppose the Death Note reference really made it obvious. :"> Which I... sort of expected anyway. XD; So, not surprised.

The section you quoted, the visual of that scene, is what pretty much spawned the entire fic.

I am going to refrain from keysmashing - SERIOUSLY, I CAN DO IT, IT'S POSSIBLE - because this fic is absolutely gorgeous and it deserves a more coherent review than that, haha. But wow. Wow. How much did I love this?? SO MUCH. The characterization is absolutely perfect for all three boys. Especially Mizuki at the Fuji-Shiraishi match - his mixed feelings were so spot on, torn between wanting him to win and wanting him to lose, but wanting to be the one to beat him. Yuuta was fantastic too. The entire scene with him and Fuji was wonderful and really captured their relationship. And FUJI. HAHAHAHAHAHA! So perfect!! The talking to the cacti bit killed me! And this part:

"I'm sorry, do I know you?" his brother asked, his face the epitome of apologetic innocence ( ... )

Maxie. MAXIE. I was so thrilled when I saw I'd been assigned to you. I knew the fic has to be perfect. While it's probably not 100% perfect it's about as close to that as I could and hey, I'm not hearin' any complaints. Yay for that.

I soooo can't do fluff but I'm glad the humor was enough to balance out any tidbits of angst that may have made it in there.

As for the Death Note reference, 1) I couldn't resist, and 2) I was 99.9% certain you'd laugh your ass off over it. I see my data is correct, nfu.

There were some Tachibana-Mizuki and Akazawa-Mizuki bits that never made it into the final draft, and I still bewoe that cuz I know you'd have loved that as well, but... it's the thought that counts? Ahahaha XD;

I was expecting something like this, but it still made my night to actually read the finished product. Your characterization of Fuji defies any compliment I might throw at it. Yuuta's too. And Mizuki's. Actually, it's pretty clear that characterization is your strongest suit (of many strong suits), so it's always a pleasure to read your stories.

I loved the humorous little bits thrown in (Fuji talking to his cacti, rofl!) and the tense moments like the match with Shiraishi and the insult at the end.

All in all, kickass fic. Much love to you. ♥

Ahaha, so you couldn't guess me at Santa Smex but you guessed me here. Color me amused. ^_^ Ah, Eia my wifey, I'll never get enough kicks out of your compliments. ♥

It wasn't a guess this time. You discussed the fic with me in chat, remember? ^___^;; Just the beginning, with Mizuki watching the Fuji/Shiraishi match, but that was more than enough for me to recognize this when I saw it again.

Thanks, Missy. Maxie may be lucky but I was lucky to get to write for her. It was an honor. ♥
