I don't blame you for moving. If I had a lucrative enough job offer I'd consider pulling up my roots here and leaving, even though Hawaii is my home and I have friends and family here. Right now I'm staying put because I have a job at home... so to speak.

Yeah I mean at least I keep my job! It could have been that the company just dump me and hire a new (cheaper) guy there. They are also reimbursing for the move up to $9000 so I must be wanted. I feel blessed. It would be like flying in the face of faith to not move and quit and go unemployed hoping to get a job. Which is what my partner is doing and I wish him luck. But like you he has his family here so he has the support.

I know how hard of a decision you have to make. I made that decision twice . . . once when I moved to Central California to take up a job which I hel until I retired and then . . . moving to Washington.

If you HAFTA go, know that I will miss your company.

Yes BUT!! Washington Ren Fair is not out of the picture. I will still have three weeks vacation and I will maintain a public storage up here at least for a while. I won't move everything so I can just grab something in the area like a studio apartment till I find the "right" house. I may just stow the tent and things in Bonney Lake.

I am glad you are moving with a job. You are lucky to have one so much. I know when I up and left my hometown of Portland 18 years ago it was fearful but I had a job waiting and a man who wanted to marry me. I had to adjust to a lot in California, the weather was a pleasant adjustment but the traffic, speeds, and cost were scary. But in the end I had a great husband, a good home, warm weather and loved it finally. Hated to move really except the house was just too small for us. Coming here has been ok but I am finally totally tired of nothing but 11 months of rain. I want to be outside more and not getting wet, or wind blasted, or frozen. Who knows maybe we will follow you? The midwest becomes the new Mecca of jobs? Sure expensive here I tell ya what happened to the West Coast I grew up when it was nice and affordable. Now ehhhh. Good luck dude!
