Stevana mentioned that I have another nickname which was not included in the previous entry's meme. Technically, it's the denotation and not the name itself, the name being the one that I've used all my life - Huy.*

Everybody in my family, with the exception of Jason, has a Vietnamese name. Each name has a particular meaning and I assume that my parents chose names in consideration of these meanings. For instance, my father's name, Hieu, means 'dutiful' and my mother, Sac, means 'colour'. My eldest sister Phung is a phoenix while Linh, the middle sister, is omniscient. Vu, the youngest sister, denotes 'rain' but also 'dance'. Then comes me and my unfortunate name.

As we all know, I am gay. A homosexual, butt pirate, fudgepacker, Friend of Dorothy, queer, queen, fairy. In an amusing case of irony, my mother and/or father saw fit to give me a name meaning 'lady's man'. Other synonyms include lady-killer, Casanova, womanizer, Don Juan and skirt chaser. Undoubtedly this stemmed from my father's burning desire for grandchildren. Although I find this whole name business hilarious, I don't think my father will find any of this amusing once he discovers that there won't be, or most likely won't be, any kids. I'm sorry, Papa!

*My mother keeps telling me that I should change my name. Any suggestions?**
**I'll clarify this: my mother keeps telling me that I should change my current name so that I have a Western/Australian first name, like many other Asian kids. If I actually did this, I would probably keep 'Huy' as my middle name.
