For me, last night was the first day of awesome summer. I played at a rock show that Ryan Moore set up at the Brunswick UU Church, and had such a great time. He and Mike's new band, Memo, is awesome. It's been so long since I've seen a local punk act that I really liked, and who weren't jerks. I brought my new ripstik along and Mike and I started learning to ride it before the show, and then between bands, and then all through the last two hardcore bands. By the end we were ripping it up!! We found that it was a lot easier to go on a slight hill, but we ended up being able to go back up hills, too. There was a great curved pathway hill that was such a thrill to ride down! I also got to have a freezepop for the first time in years and it was delicious and good. There was so much great talking and laughing and ripstik riding last night, and I realize my writing about the subject does it no justice, but it was such a great night. I drove out of Brunswick at 11:30, not feeling tired at all, but ready for next time.
