Not sure where I left off, and I'm too lazy to check my last couple of posts, so I'll just pick up at New Year's.
I'm away on George and I's anniversary, so we went out a week early to a restaurant in the heart of downtown. We cleaned up a bit, though George looks a bit like he's going to a school photo-day. :) The other pic is the view from the table.
I also made good progress on Celes, though I lost a weekend due to going to Librarations (more on that momentarily), so here's where I am so far:
Still lots to do! @.@
Librarations was very tiring as it involved a 4 hour drive, but it was good to see friends and make some new ones. This even really got our group's name out there and let us try our hand at running an event, with great success in both departments. I originally wasn't going to go since I had to go to LA again today, but decided last minute to go and ended up being sort of the unofficial photographer, photoing the individual cosplayers - the official photographer seemed to focus more on events and candid shots of the attendees. We were rushed for time, so I didn't get to do the all photoshoots I was hoping to do, but got some interesting individual shots, so I accomplished my goal of getting some practice with the camera.
I plan to do a little editing to the Fai, to bring out the dots a bit more and to remove the arms attached to the dots, so that it seems more that the dots are leaping from Fai's hand - it took a while for the mobile to turn the right way, but I think the idea will work well. The alignment is really good for what I want to do with it.
I also got to work on group shots a little; I don't have much experience with them. I definitely need more practice.
After this trip, I'm home for a week and back in LA another week. I'm sad I don't have a more portable sewing project. :/ I look forward to working on stuff when I get home, though I think I'm going to get swallowed up by wedding stuff since it will be then February. Meh.
