best summer ever
Though I miss Italy, I have now determined that this may perhaps turn out to be The Best Summer Ever. Why?
-- I'm back in Lawrence fuckin' Kansas, having Kansas adventures (going in search of Heron nests and finding "stinging nettle" instead; random thunderstorms; homemade brew; rotating dinner parties; 80's night at the dance club; house parties with live bands and beer bongs)
-- my friends rule! Yep. And they're mostly all back in town for the summer.
-- Family: being back with the 'rents isn't as awkward as I had thought and now I've got TWO houses to mooch from. Kai and Kristen are dolls too.
-- my sweet ass job. For PRAXIS I'm working helping this feminist professor (my suspicions say Lesbian) translate a feminist book from Italian to english. I get to do the work on my own time, utter flexibility. Today she took me out for coconut tofu curry, yum.
-- Didi and I are going on a roadtrip out to San Francisco this August!!
Really, everything's going my way, and I even have a checking account now. The only thing that could wreck the summer would be if I fell in love.
Well, I'm off. Also, does anyone have any ideas for an Italian related senior project/thesis??? I might be in the market.
