And God is holding it -- indeed, the very universe and heavens beyond the cosmos.
Here is an unedited beginnings of a poem that combine my thoughts on: life, the wonders i've found in my time here in this world, and hope for love, and questions that arise from the imagination of my youth to some of the expectations i keep even today. I have been experiencing more Shakespeare lately, and as the close came to the movie i watched tonight (The Merchant Of Venice, 2004 -- my favorite from Shakespeare), a quick lyric came into mind. As you will see in this poem-influenced thought process, the first lyric started it all. By the time i started to write this down, the original first lyric may have changed -- i think i had a better one in mind when it first hit me. Oh well.
"
I long to look in amazement
at this wonder of life
Held by the universe
In a soft moment
Gaze into a set of deep, devoted eyes
and find insurmountable joy, for i am hers.
For it would be as the most heart-warming ultimatum
In an instant chosen
though it were pre-decided
To find, keep, and devote our lives together
And all the sacrifices made into comfort
Through mistake and seemingly everlasting toil we trudge
Peripheral distractions from the focus of surreal hope
It would be true, that hope known if only in imagination,
If in my youth the world revolving beneath me
had valued eternal bright light
And unconditional, sacrificial love --
To no condition could the be bond be separated!
Oh how i vision to make periphery perfect.
Time spent in every breath,
But even the waiting holds perseverance
I know i am soon to meet a beautiful wonder of life,
A desire not by myself made
But had already existed
I give glory to beauty when pure
And now that i am a man knowing and needing Jesus --
like a garden reaching for the warmth in love emanating from the sun,
soaking in a rain that i sensed would cover me with touches of cooling drops
coming in waves and streams
(so thirsted for)
