Thank you, Safeway

In the UK the Safeway supermarket brand is no more - most the stores were sold to Morrisons or Tesco. I first knew Safeway also existed in the US when I saw Innerspace where Martin Short's character was a Safeway checkout clerk.

While walking the streets of downtown Bellevue, I found Safeway on Bellevue Way between NE 4th Street and NE 8th Street. There I was able to purchase bellanna's jelly beans as well as some Peeps for the office. I am still on the prowl for a birthday gift for Sandi. While in the store I photographed some Cadbury's Creme Eggs so the former DisplayLink employee now working at Microsoft in Redmond won't have to ask British people to smuggle them through US customs as ellipsoid chocolates containing neither cream nor egg.

I didn't find any HobNob biscuits and I could only find regular sausage on a stick in a pancake and not the enhanced sausage on a stick in pancake with mint chocolate chips.

Tomorrow I fly home - woo hoo!

usa, bellevue, shopping
